Thrown from a textured stoneware clay with a shallow turned foot and with white slip and a Nuka-style glaze on the interior.
These are an ‘Everything’ bowl in that they are useful in place of dinner plates, desert bowls, small serving dishes…or anything!
Nuka glazes originate from Japan and use rice straw ash as a main ingredient. Without local access to rice straw I have used native reed ash which is chemically similar and a good substitute.
Each bowl is individual and unique, a reflection of coarse clay body and loose application of slip and glaze. The bowl you receive may not be the ones featured in the images.
