Ash-glazed platter I

Ash-glazed platter I
£175.00
Thrown from a textured stoneware clay with a shallow foot and an applewood ash glaze.
The ash for this glaze was collected from prunings of a group of small trees my Gran planted in the 1980s.
This platter shows the influence a clay body can have on the glaze finish. Unglazed on the underside, the clay has taken on a lovely toasty colour in the reduction-firing. A great all-round serving dish for beautiful summer salads or winter roasts.
