Wild clay Tenmoku bottle vase

Wild clay Tenmoku bottle vase
£110.00
Thrown from a Scottish native stoneware clay found in Glasgow’s West End, and Tenmoku glazed.
When it was freshly thrown I gently squashed the vase to distort the form.
The finish on the Tenmoku glaze is very dependent on thickness of application and shows lovely variation from semi-matt rusty red through to rich gloss black. Inclusions in the clay body speckle and melt in the firing, adding further interest to the surface.
h. 21.5 x diam. 13cm approx.
